Openvote is the place you come to see what your campus thinks on everything from the latest school controversy to which party you should go to on Friday night. It’s where you can get something off your chest, make your case, call for change, or check your school’s pulse – on whatever you care about the most.

Openvote is about stirring things up.

We believe that institutions like colleges are stronger when there is open, honest debate about where things really stand and what direction they need to head in next. We believe that you can’t force change until you can show the powers-that-be that people are really demanding it. And we believe that if you are forking over $100K+ for something, you should have some say over it.

And Openvote is also about having fun.

And Openvote is also about having fun and making your life better in all those little ways. Like helping you figure out how other students rate a class you are thinking about taking next term. Or which cell phone service most people on campus have (more free in-network minutes, anyone?) Or really important stuff, like who your friends think would win in a fight between a rottweiler and a rottweilers’s weight in chihuahuas. Or even which fraternity or sorority is best for . . . well, you fill in the blank.

That’s the whole point: you get to decide what to ask. Just keep it clean. (Or relatively clean, at least. Check out our Terms of Service for the full run-down, but mainly just use your common sense: No porn, libel, slander, spam, ads, or other nasty stuff like that. If you see that stuff, flag it here and we’ll get rid of it.)
